Why do I need a security code in addition to my username and password?

With the continued growth of Digital Banking and the threat of identity theft, there are increased needs for greater security standards in order to keep you and your money well protected. In addition, the government has issued new guidelines, calling for enhanced security measures for online banking. When your account is accessed from a computer that was not previously registered with Digital Banking, a one-time security code will need to be sent to a phone number or email address you have previously setup on your account. After receiving the security code, you can register your device in order to bypass this extra security step for future logins. This enhanced security ensures that even if your username and password are compromised, a fraudster would also need access to your phone or email in order to successfully log into your account from an unregistered computer. We care deeply about offering easy access to your accounts while also making sure your money is safe by adhering to the highest standards of Digital Banking security.
