Loan Payment Protection (protects) covers individual or joint loans when you experience a hardship such as death, disability or unexpected job loss that could affect member’s ability to make loan payments. Loan Payment Protection will assist with helping members make their monthly loan payment.
To start a claim, the following documents and information need to be submitted to Inspirus
Three types of Payment Protection Claims (removed)
- Life - Death Certificate & date of loss
- Disability - Date of loss: CUNA Mutual will contact with member for required supporting documents
- Involuntary Unemployment- Last day of employment: CUNA Mutual will contact with member for required supporting documents
Inspirus will submit a claim to CUNA on behalf of the member.

For Disability & Involuntary Unemployment the benefit will pay out monthly and send checks that get applied directly to your loan.
Letter is sent to the member each time a payment is applied to the loan.
Life claim is a one lump sum payment, typically for remaining loan balance after date of loss.
Each claim varies, and when Inspirus Credit Union files a claim on the members behalf a claims representative will reach out to the member.
